Recount Text

Recount text is a text that is used to retell event for the purpose of informing or entertaining.

·   The generic structures of Recount Text are :

1.) Orentation (its gives the readers the background information needed to understand the

text such as who was involved where it happened, when it happened.)

2.) Events (a series of events ordered in a chronological sequence).

3.) Re-orentation (restates the writer’s opinion or personal comment of the writer on the incident.

·   The significant lexicogrammatical features :

a.) Use of simple past tense.

b.) Use of temporal conjuctions (when, after, before, next, later then).

c.) Use of personal pronoun ( I and We).

·   Recount text use the past tense sentence structur :

(+) S + Verb past + O/complement

(-) S + did not + Verb base + O/complement

(?) Did + S + Verb base + O/complement

·   The easy characteristic than can be found from the recount text is it is always started by past adberbal of time.

For example :

.Last week

.Last holiday

.One day

.Yesterday, etc.

Student Orientation Of SMADA

           A few days ago, all new student and I in SMA 2 Palangka Raya followed the orientation event (MOS = Masa Orietasi Siswa) organized by SMA 2 Palangka Raya in SMA 2 Palangka Raya. Event by event, in the morning, and afternoon, we experienced impressively. (orientation)

           There were some events that we did, starting from the preparation of opening ceremony, implementing ceremony, until checking after the ceremony. May be the event of checking the participants which was the most stressful. (series of events)

           Not only stressful event, but also there were funny events which happened during the orientation was held. (series of event)

           Finally, after the events were over before we went go to home, all of us hospitality, and shake hand each other, and also took some photos together. (re-orientation)
