Greetings
Definition => Greeting is a short sentence that is used when we meet or say goodbye to someone.
The purpose of using greetings :
1.) To say “good morning” to everyone when you wake up in the morning.
2.) To greet your friends or teachers when you meet them.
3.) To say “ goodbye” or “bye” when you are leaving.
Example of greetings :
. Good morning (01.00 a.m. – 12.00 p.m.)
. Good noon ( at noon)
. Good afternoon (12.00 p.m. – 06.00 p.m.)
. Good evening (06.00 p.m. – 12.00 p.m.)
. Hello/hi.
. Nice to meet you./Nice to meet you too.
.How are you?/I am very well,thanks or I am not good actually. And you?
.How’s everything with you?/Not bad
.How do you do?
For the parting :
# See you later.,
# Goodbye/bye/bye-bye.
# Good night ( it is used at night)
# See you next time.
# Till we meet again!
# I’ll be seeing you.
Example of dialogue :
Noki meets his teacher, Miss Andini, in front of the school at 07.00 a.m. in the morning.
Noki : Good morning, Miss.
Miss Andini : Good morning, Nok. You are a little bit late.
Noki : Yes, Miss. I am sorry.
Miss Andini : It is all right. Try to come earlier tomorrow.
Noki : I will, Miss. Well, I have to go to my class. Goodbye, Miss.
Miss Andini : Goodbye, Noki.
Stela meet her friend on Friday evening.
Stela : Good evening, Kani. It is me Stela, you friend from Junior High School.
Kani : Good evening, Stela. I remember you. How are you?
Stela : I am fine, thank you. How about you, Kan?
Kani : I am fine too, Stela. Well I have to go now. Goodbye Stela.
Stela : Goodbye Kani. See you next time.
